The three-day Congress will provide an overview of research, studies and state-of-the-art of knowledge in different fields of architectural heritage related to the conservation and restoration of monuments, buildings, historic towns, archaeological sites and other structures built from the earliest times till the end of the 19th century. In addition, the congress will highlight the role that different techniques, technologies and materials have played in the history of architecture, their relationship with the environmental conditions in different parts of the world (climate, seismically, etc.). A special session will be devoted to the structures of the 20th century and to the perspectives for the third millennium.
