Born in Leipzig as Peter Schwarze, German artist Blinky Palermo (1943 –1977) began to use the pseudonym Blinky Palermo in 1964, rising to international acclaim under the name before his premature death. From the mid-1960s, Palermo made "paintings" by combining single colour, industrially dyed fabrics such as cotton, satin, silk and linen. He also created architectural wall drawings and objects that examine the inherent qualities
of three-dimensional space and sculpture. A fully-illustrated catalogue is available.
