, three-course lunch menus for $24.07
and/or dinners for $35. Beverage, tax and gratuity are additional.
Nearly 200 notable New York City restaurants take part in this
culinary event which began as a hospitality initiative in 1992 to welcome
delegates to the Democratic National Convention.
Based on Zagat Survey’s quality rating and price point, participation
in Restaurant Week is by invitation only and restaurants are required to
offer selections reflecting the quality of the regular restaurant
European Visitors should note, however, that New York restaurant dining
can feel rushed compared to European tables. Rents are spectacular in New
York and many restaurants have to serve at least two seatings per table
during the dinner service in order to remain economically viable.
The list of participating restaurants will be available on NYC’s
Official Visitor web site, www.nycvisit.com.
