The Museum of Modern Art’s Summergarden series returns to The Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden for six Sunday evenings beginning July 9, 2006. Summergarden, a tradition that began in 1971, is part of MoMA’s long history of presenting jazz and classical music in the Sculpture Garden. Last summer the Museum welcomed the participation of The Juilliard School and Jazz at Lincoln Center to present a program of musical premieres. This year the collaboration and the theme continue with a second series of compositions making their premiere. Juilliard concerts are performed by current students and recent graduates of the Juilliard School, under the artistic direction of Joel Sachs, who creates three distinctive programs of contemporary compositions, all of which will have their New York, United States or world premieres. Jazz at Lincoln Center selects three leading jazz artists, each of whose concerts will emphasize original works, with at least one world premiere. Full program information is available to the public starting 5 June at www.moma.org or by calling (1) 212 708 94 91. Summergarden 2006 Schedule 9 July : Juilliard
