The Mo Wax label is the rare Trip Hop bird winging in from London, courtesy of 22-year-old manager James Lavelle. Mo Wax is transnational in creation, owing its existence to a multinational lot including Japanese DJ Krush, American DJ Shadow and many Brits. A pioneer label, Mo Wax, legalized Trip Hop and has remained at the fringe of the acceptable. | ![]() |
To be at Mo Wax - when the label ignored the value of a contract - meant no Mo Wax two months later and possible capitalization of one's own artistic creation. That's why Howie B. - the producer of Bjork, Massive Attack and U2 - left Mo Wax. Since recording Skylab, an experiment between House and Trip Hop, he started the Pussyfoot Label which quickly became a subsidiary of Delabel. | |
