Rem Koolhaas Wins Mies van der Rohe Award
Dutch architect Rem Koolhasas is as controversial for his social theories as for his architectural designs. Turner Prize 2002 Shortlist
Tate Britain has announced the four artists who have been shortlisted for this year's Turner Prize. Work by the shortlisted artists will be shown in an exhibition at Tate Britain from 30 October 2002 - 5 January 2003. The winner of the £20,000 prize will be announced at Tate Britain on 8 December 2002 during a live broadcast by Channel 4.
Turkish Writer Orhan Pamuk Receives German Peace Prize
Controversial Turkish author Orhan Pamuk received the German book trade’s prestigious Peace Prize for works that explore life in a changing Turkey. He is also set to go on trial in December in Turkey for media statements about the mass murder of Armenians and Kurds in Turkey in 1915.
