This exhibition looks at these two worlds from different angles: historical comparisons, haute-couture houses and their interpretation of sporting vocabulary, but also fashion itself, which makes it mark in the sports arena just as sports equipment suppliers create things for city wear.
Fashion designers have all borrowed clothes and accessories from sport, for perhaps one or two seasons. See how Galliano, for Dior, redefines the clothing of fencing, or Givenchy that of athletics; Chanel who dares to dress a bride with snow rackets on her feet, Vuitton and Céline gaining inspiration from the forthcoming Football World Cup Korea / Japan.
