SEATTLE  •  Seattle Art Museum  •  Ongoing

The Seattle Art Museum presents an exhibition that celebrates the life and work of Morris Graves, who died in May 2001 at age ninety. Graves’s history with the Seattle Art Museum dates to 1933, when his painting Moor Swan won the museum’s annual prize. Three years later, SAM founder Richard Fuller invited the artist to have his first solo exhibition. This exhibition will include more than three-quarters of the Morris Graves works in the permanent collection, along with key loans from local private collections, letters written by the artist, and photographs of him by Seattle photographers Mary Randlett and Imogen Cunningham.
