PARIS  •  Musée du Luxembourg  •  Ongoing
The work of René Lalique (1860 - 1945) commanded the respect of his colleagues and contemporaries and the admiration of the public, and he is still a household name today. As a jeweler and designer, Lalique’s consistently innovative work altered and influenced the horizons of Art Nouveau, blending applied arts, poetry, painting and literature, and making a substantial contribution to the design revolution of the late 19th century. Later in the early 20th century, after making perfume bottles for perfume manufacturer Francoise Coty, Lalique took up glass making.

The Musée du Luxembourg invites visitors to take a closer look at Lalique’s genius through a selection of about 150 works by Lalique and his contemporaries. The exhibition contains a number of masterpieces that have never been previously displayed.
