The Other Modernity: Giorgio de Chirico and Alberto Savinio GERMANY DUSSELDORF • Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen • 15 September - 2 December 2001
The exhibition is dedicated to the invention of "metaphysical art" by Giorgio de Chirico (1888-1978) and his brother, Alberto Savinio (1891-1952). The show features de Chirico's work, with some 45 to 50 paintings from between 1908 and 1919 and about as many works from 1919 to the thirties, and juxtaposes these with a concentrated selection of some 30 paintings by Savinio.
