Sailor Chic : Fashion's Love Affair With the Sea

Sailor Chic explores the use of nautical styles to express solidarity, patriotism, rebellion and sexuality. This new exhibition links traditional naval uniforms from the National Maritime Museum's collection with more recent reincarnations from contemporary designers including Chanel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood, Kenzo and John Galliano.

The exhibition is divided into the following themes:

Affluence & Patriotism
Subversion & Rebellion
Gender & Sexuality
Influences & Inspiration
Catwalk & Highstreet
