From Here to Timbuktu takes visitors on a journey through West Africa’s diverse geographic regions where children and adults alike learn about the rhythm of West African life. In each geographic region children are introduced to the foodways, customs and culture of the people who call that area home. Travel from the coastal cities, through the treetops of mountain rainforests and make your way to the open-air family compound on the Savannah. The last leg of the journey features Timbuktu, an ancient center of learning.
