Celebrating its 25th Anniversary, Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana introduces the New York premiere of a bold new work, Carmen: El Baile , commissioned by The Joyce Theater. This is not Carmen the cigarette girl but Carmen the symbol of artistic perfection. With passion, pride and power, the company shows how the artistic drive, which strives to achieve perfection, can both create and destroy. Traditional works, embodied in a Cuadro Flamenco, complete the program and showcase the virtuosity of this fifteen-member company.
