Jazz Sinfônica + Regina Carter
BRAZIL SAO PAULO • Auditório Ibirapuera • 23 - 24 May 2008 |
 |
Regina Carter is a master jazz violinist of great control, improvisational flexibility and wide-ranging style and one of the most significant and innovative violinists to emerge on the jazz scene in decades. Carrying on the legacy of Stephan Grappelli, Jean Luc-Ponty and Stuff Smith, Carter is keeping the jazz-violin flame alive. She's a true original, possessing the ability to integrate the finer elements of jazz, funk, American, Brazilian and soul music with an adventurous rhythmic sensibility. Not too long ago Carter also recently made international headlines by being the first non-classical violinist and first African-American to play Paganini's violin.
