The noir novel has long been a staple of urban American fiction. But what about Canada? The Walrus asked Canadian novelists to sketch their cities as grittier, sexier and darker than one might ever have imagined. The evening features actor Nicholas Campbell, editor Ken Alexander and authors Austin Clarke, Heather O'Neill, and Greg Hollingshead, among others. An evening of noir sketches, smoky jazz by Molly Johnson, cold beer, fine wine, smart talk and urban fare.
