New features 150 works from the Gallery's collection, by somse 80 artists, all of which have been made since 1990. The selection includes work by Damien Hirst, Rachel Whiteread, Tony Cragg, Ian Hamilton, Douglas Gordon, Catherine Yass, Callum Innes, Smith and Stewart, Christine Borland, Lucian Freud, Alan Davie, Leon Kossoff among others. The show presents works in a diversity of media from painting, sculpture, drawing and printmaking to installations, DVD projections and digitally manipulated photography. Another part of New is a selection of artist books from the Gallery's Special Book Collection. Examples by David Faithful, Deb Rindil, Tim Staples and others are on view.
