Launched in 1996 the Rockwave Festival is the biggest summer rock music fesitval in southeastern Europe. The 2008 edition lineup features Lenny Kravitz, Mark Knopfler, Judas Priest, The Offspring, Manu Chao, The Gossip, Linkin Park, Def Leppard & Whitesnake, Athena Andreadis, Venom, The Deus, ced Earth, Patti Smith, Schooligans, Locomondo, Lacuna Coil, Leonard Cohen, Iron Maiden, Siouxsie, Anne Clark among others.
The 3-day summer festival takes place, in Terra Vibe Park in Malakasa, 37 km outside Athens on the Athens-Lamia National Road.
