La Chaise-Dieu, in Haute-Loire, in the south of Auvergne hosts a festival programme that includes Requiems by Gilles, Berlioz, Mozart and Bruckner, Bach's Saint John Passion, Beethoven's Five Piano Concerti with Irish pianist Barry Douglas conducting from the piano, Bach's Mass in B Minor, Vocal music of the Renaissance, Schubert's Mass No. 5 D 678, Gluck's Orphée et Eurydice among many other works.
