Blowing Whistles is a comedy/drama about being gay, being in love, big lies, internet hook ups, and the fallout that ensues. Originally set in London on the eve of Gay Pride, Sol Theatre, with the blessing and help of playwright Matthew Todd, has adapted the play’s language and setting to Fort Lauderdale, resulting in a play that is culturally relevant to its environment and its intended audience – gay men. Blowing Whistles is about Nigel (Ross Carson) and Jamie (Daivd Tarryn-Grae), a likeable couple in a somewhat open relationship. On the eve of Gay Pride, which coincides with their tenth anniversary, Nigel cruises “Manhunt” online and meets ‘Cumboy_17’ (Kyle Garcia). The ensuing events over the next 24 hours will chart a course that will change their lives forever. Starring: Daivd Tarryn-Grae as Jamie, Ross Carson as Nigel and Kyle Garcia as Mark (cumboy_17) and directed and designed by Robert Hooker and Jeff Holmes with the stage managed by Jeff Holmes, and sound by Marc Scott.
