Cry of the Thunderbird, the song cycle continues the story of former slave Blue, a black cowboy in the American West. With his Cross That River Band, jazz vocalist Allan Harris depicts Blue's cattle drive days and his chance encounters with renegade Plains Indians, Buffalo Soldiers, Dancing Annie, Diamond Jimmy, ex-Confederates, and other characters of color.
