Some 200 art objects and artifacts document the French expedition of 1930 to 1932 in the land of the Dogon in central Mali. The works on view are on loan from the Musée de l'Homme in Paris. Visitors should note that the Dogon only number about 200, 000 today and are spread out over a number of villages in central Mali. Coveted by collectors, Dogan art has been the target of theft and speculation in the art markets of Europe and America.
