McCoy Tyner Trio UNITED STATES NEW YORK  •  Blue Note  •  Ongoing   Legendary pianist McCoy Tyner returns to the Blue Note for two nights with trio members Gerald Cannon and Francisco Mela and special guests Dave Valentin and Steve Turre. Both Valentin and Turre were featured on Tyner’s 1999 Telarc Release McCoy Tyner & The Latin All-Stars, and with Francisco Mela in the drum chair, the band is certain to steer Tyner’s compositions towards a Latin direction. Tyner’s most recent recording, Solo: Live From San Francisco, was released in August 2009 on McCoy Tyner Music, a subsidiary of the Blue Note Jazz Club’s In-House record label, Half Note Records.
