 |
To mark the reopening of The André Mertens Galleries for Musical Instruments, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York hosts and all-day exploration of European early music and its performance practice. Particularly noteworthy is the 3:00 pm session entitled From Manuscript to Concert Hall: Revival of Fifteenth-Century Chansons where visitors will have the opportunity to hear and learn about the work of Asteria, (Sylvia Rhyne, soprano, and Eric Redlinger, tenor and lute), one of the most insightful and aesthetically lush performance teams of 15th Century Burgundian love songs in the world today.
