The Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris is hosting the first-ever retrospective in Paris devoted to the work of Charley Toorop (1891-1955), one of the leading lights of Dutch modern art and daughter of the symbolist Jan Toorop. With more than 120 works, the show includes the artists who sprang from her movement through self-portraits and humorous or troubling female representations.
