Festival des Nuits du Château de la Moutte

Festival des Nuits du Château de la Moutte
FRANCE
SAINT-TROPEZ  •  Château de la Moutte  •  Ongoing

The Nights of the Château de la Moutte festival was created in 1975 by Annette Troisier de Diaz (1917-2005),  grand-daughter of Emile Ollivier, prime minister of France under Napoleon III who acquired the famous chateau and its elegant parc outside Saint-Tropez in 1860. The chateau's family library was of particular interest to historians and musicologists of the Second Empire.

Among the highlights of this chic summer rendez-vous on the French Riviera:

A performance of Denis Diderot's play, Le neveu de Rameau (20 July), violinist Renaud Capuçon in a recital programme of sonatas for violin and piano (23 July), a tribute to gypsy jazz guitarist, Django Reinhardt including two current jazz stars, violinist Florin Nicolescu and guitarist Christian Escoudé (3 August), Argentinian tango artist, Juan José Mosalini in two shows with his fellow musicians, dancers and singers (6, 8 August).
