From 1934 to 1954, the city of Bern was a major international venue for motorized racing. Formula 1 speedsters, roadsters and motorcycles performed in numerous races. These and other racing vehicles are in the Swiss capital once again in August 2012, competing in a vintage car exhibition race.
The 8 km circular route starts and finishes at Westside, the shopping and recreational center designed by Daniel Libeskind. Over 400 participating cars are on view on a designated parking level.
Other events during the Grand Prix Suisse Memorial include an air show featuring historical airplanes, and a vintage car parade through the Old Town of Bern.
