This exhibition is the first major monographic show of South-African photographer Pieter Hugo, born in 1976. In addition to a large number of unrealesed works, the exhibition also feature very well known series such as The Hyena & other Men, the strange Nollywood, and the Permament Error. As always, his portraits tell the story of people on the margins of society in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Pieter Hugo was revealed in 2005 by the Musée de l'Elysée in the project reGeneration. His work was added to the Museum's collections in 2006 with the acquisition of the series Albinos.
Prestel Editions has published a catalogue of 224 pages on the occasion of this exhibition, which was originaly concieved by Fotomuseum Den Haag.
