In the world I live showcases an installation of works by Irish artist Lawrence Carroll. His works use materials already employed for some other purpose and the signs of this use are still visible.
The exhibition occupies five interlinking spaces allowing the viewer to wander back and forth between works from different periods from 1984 to 2012. Carroll often refers to himself as a storyteller when speaking or writing about his work. Creating this installation allows him to play with this notion of narrative, connecting abstract language with the world of representation and the human condition.
Lawrence Carroll: In the world I live is documented by an illustrated publication. The exhibition will travel to Casal Solleric, Palma de Mallorca, in 2013.
