Still in her early twenties, the Austrian flautist Daniela studied at the Salzburg Mozarteum and has won first place or finished on the podium in numerous competitions, receiving special prizes on several occasions. She regards her victory in the Kobe International Flute Competition in Japan in 2009, in which she emerged first from 230 competitors, as the greatest success of her career so far. Koch has already played on several continents as a scholarship holder with the Munich Philharmonic and as first flautist with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed with the Vienna Philharmonic, and has worked with conductors including Christian Thielemann, Christoph Eschenbach, Paavo Järvi, Dennis Russell Davies and Ádám Fischer.
