Manolis Haros - KETHEA EN DRASI

Manolis Haros - KETHEA EN DRASI : Therapeutic Communities in Prison: a Window on Society
ATHENS  •  Peiraios 260, Storehouse  •  Ongoing
The artists presented in Therapeutic Communities in Prison: a Window on Society are members of the KETHEA EN DRASI therapeutic community and inmates of Korydallos Prison. When the therapeutic community’s facilities were destroyed in a fire in September 2012, its members created art-works on the burnt walls in an effort both to keep their space alive and to add beauty to the prison environment. The wall paintings were photographed and the photographs were processed by the visual artist, Manolis Charos, who also guided the group and provided them with their point of reference.

The Athens Festival venue at 260 Peiraios Street is situated in the Tavros district of Athens, and shares a city block with the Athens School of Fine Art. It lies on the right hand side of the street on the way down to Piraeus, some way past the crossroads with Chamosternas Street. The entrance is through Polykratous street.
