Musical direction: Thoko Mkhize
Choreography: Xolani Ntombela

The White Birds from Mpumalanga township, an all-male choir, singing isicathamiya a cappella, calling and responding in Zulu and English, in an eclectic style including influences from hymns and minstrel music, stand as a musical symbol of South Africa. Women from the village of Ngono dance and sing isigekle – daylight – to be celebrated outside South Africa for the first time.
