The 2013 edition of this organ festival revolves around the theme: Spectrum of Sound: Aspects of Organ Music since 1940. For the first time in its 12-year history, this annual celebration of all things organ will be devoted to contemporary music with talks, workshops, masterclasses, and performances by world-renowned artists and scholars. Pulitzer Prize composer William Bolcom will be on hand in his 75th-birthday year to teach a masterclass, discuss his approach to composing for organ, and hear his music performed.
Other highlights include a keynote address and performance by Hans-Ola Ericsson, and the final round of the Westfield International Organ Competition (Sep 28), with the Winners’ Recital at Cornell University on the last day of the festival.
