City walk, exhibitions, debates and lectures.
2013 marks the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the abolition of slavery in the Netherlands. Echoes of this history can be found in Haarlem, in various archive, library and museum collections and simply in the street. The ‘Echoes of Slavery’ project is an initiative by the Bureau Discriminatiezaken Kennemerland, the Noord-Hollands Archief, Ineke Mok/Cultuursporen, Dineke Stam/Intercultural Museum and Heritage Projects (IMHP). Teylers Museum, the Frans Hals Museum, the Historisch Museum Haarlem, ABC Architectuurcentrum and De Pletterij are taking part in the project.
