Agreed, is a theatrical-fugue directed by Sylvaine Strike (Best Director Naledi Award for The Miser 2012) and performed by Lionel Newton. The production comprises of a trio of monologues, genially underscored by the emotive voice of the cello, played on stage by Kutlwano Masote.
The Pied Piper of Hamelin by Robert Browning opens the show with a bold revisit to this well-loved work, soon focusing one’s attention on the majestic power of the English language. It introduces the biting theme of greed which runs through the entire production like an enticing golden thread, and is followed by a contemporary satirical monologue penned , The Hand –over, written by Nick Warren. This is an incisive stab at the current captains of capitalism, the new élite and their monetary-mentors.
