Georg Friedrich Händel:  Solomon HWV 67
Oratorio in three acts

«Your harps and cymbals sound to great Jehovah’s praise: unto the Lord of hosts your willing voices raise.» So begins Solomon, the three-act oratorio that Handel finished in June 1748 and premièred the following year. It is now one of the most important works in the composer’s extensive body of work, but at the time it had little success.
