While Terrasson was turning heads working with such top-notch vocalists as Betty Carter, Dianne Reeves, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Jimmy Scott (arranging the tunes and performing on the singer’s 1996 album Heaven) and Cassandra Wilson (the pair co-led the 1997 Blue Note release Rendezvous), he was also making an impact with his solo career—recording a series of critically acclaimed discs: Reach (1995), Alive (1998) and What It Is (1999).
