This exceptional circuit, the longest in the world (13,650 kms) bathes in an aura created by the most renowned manufacturers and the greatest drivers in motor sport. Since 1923 Bentley, Alfa Romeo, Bugatti, Ferrari, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Porsche, Matra, Renault, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and today Audi have all contributed to writing the Le Mans legend.
Fangio, Hawthorn, Moss, Rindt, Ickx, Pescarolo, Hill, Andretti, Kristensen, Brundle, Dalmas, Alboreto, Herbert, Irvine, Schumacher have been the heros of this race that many drivers consider as the summit of motor sport.
The 24 Hours lasts a whole week starting with scrutineering on Monday and Tuesday at the foot of the cathedral in the medieval town followed by practice on Wednesday and Thursday and on Friday the drivers’ parade through the centre of Le Mans. Then come the weekend and the magic of the race, which continues all through the night.
