A relative newcomer, Glimmerglass Opera has the wherewithal to engage some of the brighter talents of the day, offer a showcase to some of the younger singers and share productions (often of dubious quality) with the New York City Opera, with which it shares its director. An interesting mix of works sounds enticing this year: Haydn’s "Orlando Paladino", "Dialogues des Carmélites", "Little Women", and for some strange reason, the eternal double bill of "Cav" and "Pag".
