The First Americans Festival commemorates the opening of the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, located on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. This six-day festival will celebrate the Native cultures of North, South, and Central America, and will feature more than 300 singers, dancers, and storytellers representing 30 to 40 Native communities from throughout the Western Hemisphere. Events include traditional and contemporary programs of contemporary Indian blues, rock, reggae, jazz, hip-hop and more.
