William Kentridge: Projection of Animated Charcoal Postimpressionist Drawings
MEXICO
GUANAJATO  •  Auditorio Euquerio Guerrero  •  Ongoing

This projection by South African artist William Kentridge was awarded in 1999 the Carnegie International Medal and the Kaiserring Prize in 2003. The show consists mostly of the recent work of the artist, some drawings from 1979, animation clips he made at an earlier stage, and an important selection of old filmed images, projecting furniture and objects. The artist also reflects in many of his works an obsession for shadows, as metaphors for: indirect vision, knowledge, and a tribute to primitive cinematic techniques.
