What is the hip-hop scene in Algeria like, what important theatre productions are being staged in Tunis, what kinds of festivals are being held in Beirut or Amman? What influence are the performing arts having on urban space? How is the migration from the Mediterranean region to Montpellier, Berlin and Copenhagen changing the face of these cities? These are the themes of Blue Stage.
Blue Stage is an interactive media space covering a floor area of 60 m2 which can be used by 4 persons at a time and has four projection walls, video projectors and a sound system. The content of Blue Stage as a media experiment emphasises the communication of information about other cultures using the latest technology. Photographic and film presentations and information in the form of text, sound and words are united in one space, with visual and auditory messages communicated in real time. Instead of a mere flood of information, Blue Stage offers information sorted by theme which can be called up separately. This information can be accessed using a completely new mode of navigating through the data space.
