This year's Vienna International Dance Festival opens with a performance by the Paris Opera Ballet's étoiles with Jérome Bel, Trisha Brown and music by Laurie Anderson.
Chris Haring & Klaus Obermaier also kick off the festival with their 100th performance of their controversial video dance piece D.A.V.E.
Entertainment for UN soldiers, Iranian women prohibited to dance, and stories from the African slums are among the themes explored by the Iceland Dance COmpany, Helena Waldman and Vera Mantero & Robyn Orlin.
Canadian choreographer Daniel Léveillé has his dancers perform in the nude throughout the entire piece in The Modesty of Icebergs, in which skin is the only true costume.
Rosas | Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker & Salva Sanchis, Wim Vandekeybus & Ultima Vez, The Peeping Tom Collective, Jan Ritsema & Sandy Williams, Ann Liv Young, Mala Kline, Bernd R. Bienert, Compagnie Marie Chouinard are also among the choreographers and dance troupes featured at this year's Impulstanz.
