The Hungarian-French master photographer Brassaļ is probably best known for the atmospheric pictures he took on his many tours through the night life of Paris, where he was able to get close to the life of prostitution and petty crime that was played out in the small hours in bars, brothels and nightclubs. His many walks through the seamy side of Paris also took him to the places frequented by the artists. He forged lifelong friendships with a. o. Picasso, Giacometti, Sartre and Henry Miller, and he is well known for his portraits of his artist colleagues.
Louisiana presents a comprehensive presentation of his works: 250 photographs and a selection of his drawings and sculptures.
