Building on the acquisition for the Liebieghaus in Frankfurt of the only statue of Alexander the Great still preserved for us, which portrays him as a Pharaoh, a special exhibition in the Städelsches Kunstinstitut (Städel Institute of Art) from focusds on the reciprocal artistic relationships between Egypt on the one hand and Greece and Rome on the other. The exhibition documents the historic intercultural exchange between the cultures of the ancient world.
Eighty museums and collections from all over the world have made this special event possible thanks to the loan of nearly 400 works of art.
