Program highlights among others:

August 31: Opening concert with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Christoph Eschenbach and Marisol Montalvo, Beethoven’s symphonies nos 1 and 7, Pintscher’s Hérodiade Fragments

September 7-12: the South African National Youth Orchestra stays in Bonn presenting a workshop concert with Peter Gülken (September 11, Tchaikovsky’s symphony no. 5) and a concert with Conrad van Alphen (September 9, premiere of Hans Huyssen’s new work, Constance Magogo KaDinuzulu’s Princess Magogo Songs, Beethoven’s symphony no 5)

September 10: Beethoven, Shostakovich and the Russian Modern Age Brodsky Quartet, Endellion String Quartet and Lydia Kavina, Theremin. At the Kunstmuseum Bonn

September 13: Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig, Riccardo Chailly and Truls Mørk play Reimann, Schumann and Beethoven

September 16: Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis – Charity concert serving to purchase the copperplate sample of the work for the Beethoven-Haus Bonn. With Czech Philharmonic Choir Brno, Orchester of the KlangVerwaltung, Enoch zu Guttenberg

September 17: Beethoven Orchester Bonn with Roman Kofman present Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera Mozart i Saljeri as well as Mozart’s Requiem and Shostakovich’s Symphony no 10

September 20/22/23/24/26: Beyond the Shade – world premiere of Vladimir Tarnopolski’s multi media opera at the Bundekunsthalle

September 25/27: Mozart’s opera Il Rè pastore at the Opera Bonn

September 25: Gewandhaus-Quartett: Beethoven’s string quartets in F major op 59/1 and in A minor op. 132

September 27: Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg with Robert HP Platz and Daniel Hope premiere Platz’s work Horizont Architektur Kern and play Stravinsky’s Le chant du rossignol and Scriabin’s Symphony no. 4

September 13/14/15/18/19: Schumann Song Cycle with different artists
