In its 27th edition, the 2006 Festival International de Jazz de Montréal features Paul Simon, B.B. King, Tony Bennett, McCoy Tyner, Brad Mehldau (this year’s Prix Miles-Davis recipient), Etta James (recipient of the Prix Ella-Fitzgerald), and Salif Keita (awarded the Prix Antonio Carlos-Jobim 2006), as well as opening night headliner John Pizzarelli and closing night legend Dave Brubeck, along with John Zorn, Nils Petter Molvaer, Pharoah Sanders, Ravi Coltrane, Yusef Lateef among other artists.
